Plot: Jane Hudson, an American woman no longer young, arrives in Venice for a holiday. A bit grumpy and not beautiful, in that environment full of joy, sun, and love, she keenly feels her loneliness. In the evening, sitting in St. Mark's Square, the gaze of a stranger that she feels weighing on her becomes annoying and forces her to leave. The next day she enters an antique shop and sees the man from the previous evening, Mr. Renato De Rossi, in front of her: she leaves disturbed. At home, she is surprised to receive a visit from Renato, who expresses his affection for her: at first, she reacts negatively, but then ends up agreeing to a date.
