Plot: America: for how many of us is it not a dream? From Christopher Columbus to Ferdinando Moriconi, all of us, at least once, have longed to land on the beaches across the Atlantic. Columbus is fine, you'll say at this point, but who is Moriconi? His friends call him Nando, he's a young man from Trastevere, without much to his name, who is infatuated with America, and because of this, he causes all sorts of trouble. An unlucky dancer, a failed jazz musician, he becomes enchanted by a painter from New York who invites him to her home to portray him as an ancient Roman. Nando believes the woman is in love with him, but the misunderstanding is soon cleared up, and the young man is forced to flee. Willing to do anything to get a journalistic scoop, Nando climbs the highest wall of the Colosseum and threatens to jump if they don't promise to send him to America. But the latest stunt by a simple "American-obsessed" boy once again results in a comical failure.
